The Second highest honour Grand Prix; at just concluded Cannes Film Festival in the Competition Section went to Persian Film A HERO by Asghar Farhadi. Generally hailed by several critics as his best film post SEPARATION; it explores the question of morality and right or wrong in Iranian Civil Society.

Asghar Farhadi is a regular at Cannes having premiered several of his previous titles earlier like SEPARATION, SALESMAN & EVERYBODY KNOWS and won awards most of the times. His films have also went on to win Oscar for Best Foreign Language film namely A SEPARATION & SALESMAN.

Expectations are running high that Iran may nominate A HERO as the Official entry for upcoming Oscars but there’s still some time before that gets announced. Its global journey has just started and it will be a part of regular conversations at festivals going forward. Amazon Studios is distributing A HERO in United States in the coming months and film has been sold almost entirely in the International territories.
